Hi Guys, a big welcome to Delta from myself (DOR STEVE911) and DOR YelloCactus. We hope you get stuck into the forum and enjoy becoming a part of the community on here and also part of the wider Forza Racing Community.
As we have had such a large influx of members over the past few days i thought i would take this opertunity to share some advice.
We are a clean and fair racing community, we base are event around the reteric of clean, fair, competative racing. Many of the rules with have and races we run are based on the foundations of real life motorsport, within the framework of Forza and a safe, cost effective virtual place. You will while racing experience anticpation, frustartion andrenaline, and and a buzz like you have not felt while playing forza in the normal hoppers. You will form partnerships, rivirallies and freindships. You will get out of it what you put in. unlike real motorsport finace does not restrain here, everone with an xbox, the game and controller has a level playing field. The only variable is the time you put in and your own skill and comitment.
You will find uber alien fast guys on the site. Guys that practise religioulsly, guys that pick up the controler once a week to race, newcommers, esablished mid pack racers and guys half a lap behind using all assists at the back of the pack. We welcome all ! and place an importance on the all drivers from first to last been valued and supported.
Currently we are running 2 competative events on Forza 7. The Delta SuperMinis and Delta Porche Club championship. This weekend will see many of you signinng up for your first Delta event the Superminis at Rio. The cars and track off close bumper to bumper racing, on a tight and challenging track. The brutal walls at Rio offer very little margin for error.
So as a new member entering your first organised league race with Delta how should you approach this weekend ?
here are a few suggestions and tips.
1.make sure your car build is correct (as per the guidlines in the thread)
2. find a tune (a lot of the top guys share tunes, look at the leaderboard, search some gammer tags from the guys in the top 10)
3. practice ! dont expect to turn up and just win, and dont be fooled into thinking that the guys that do win, have just turned on the xbox and race. Many have been practsing since forza 3 spent hours fine tunning and have hours of experience and amazing race craft.
4. with that said dont be put of by lap times of the top runners. We run multiple lobbies, you will find yourself in a lobby and on the grid with people of an equal lap time from quali. If you race regualy, practise, prepare and enjoy Delta Events you will see your lap times tumble over a period of time. For some it takes weeks, others months sometimes longer but once it click and you find yourself in a postiton of confidence to battle, catch and defend against other drivers, it really opens up a new world !
5. An imprtant one ! remember this is a championship. It is halfway through, (the porsche cup will be the approching its last round) your not going to win it now ! so think ! use the remaning rounds to find your feet and learn the ropes, dont be to agresive, avoid acidents that might invlove you and some one that is leading or challenging for the championship, and has been from the begining, You can afford to hold back a little. If you find yourslef been lapped stay out of the way. Use it as preperation for the next Championship which you can compete in from the start.
6. Treat the car and other cars and drivers on track as if you where in a real car. Pretend you are gonna have to foot the bill for scratches, damage and reapair. We can stomach the odd acident, but people that turn up and drive as if they where in a public forza hopper, will find there time very limited with Delta.
7. spend some time reading the basic rules. This will avoid race penalties.
8.spend some time looking at the proces of race night, by reading the DELTA for Dummies Guide" deltaonlineracing.freeforums.net/thread/423/on-race-day
heres a little task ask your self the following questions:
where can i sign into the each race ? have i done it ? how can i check ?
do i wait for an invite or not ?
where will i find what qualifiing lobby im in and who the host is ?
where will i find my qualifing time and race lobby ?
where will i find my grid position ?
where will i find my race postion ?
how can i find the race, start time in the lobby ?
if the safety car crosses the line at 3:35 on the race clock, once the grid is formed .... what time is the green light ?
as a little task, pretend you where DOR FUZZYRACING competing in the 3rd round of the SuperMinis. Find out who the race host was for his qualifing lobby, what lobby he was in. His qualifing time, And his race postion and lobbies for race 1 and 2.
if you can do the above you will be well on the way to having a fun and smooth race night on Sunday.
9. Add DOR YelloCactus and DOR STEVE911 on xbox live as friends. check out the race coverage by YMTV Racing on twitch and YouTube. ask if you dont know ! were here to help the earlier you ask the better ! dont leave it until your on the grid .
10. finally have fun !
