Delta Rally Association 2021-2022 Season Overview
For the 2021-2022 season, the Delta Rally gets a whole new rebrand. Now called the Delta Rally Association, the structure of the rally season has changed, now running 3 events starting in late August & running until the final DRC round on Easter week which is also the week of the Circuit of Ireland Rally. All 3 events are also linked as both the Delta Historic Rally Championship (DHRC) & Delta Forest Rally Championship (DFRC) will act as qualifying series for the Delta Rally Championship with the top 5 in each securing qualification for the top class of the DRC. As well as this, collectively the 3 championships are known as the Delta Rally Triple Crown.
New this season is a new point system, this is to ensure closer competition throughout the season with small differences in points.

1. Points & Classes
1a. The point system used for the Delta Rally Championship & other Delta rally events/series will follow the DRA points system: 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1
1b. All 3 championships will run 3 primary classes.
1c. Car classes will vary between each Delta rally event, these classes will be made clear on the event's forum thread in the lead up to the event itself.
1d. Each class will have their own individual standings which are scored as follows: 5-4-3-2-1.
1e. Class points will not count towards the overall championship at the end of the season.
1f. Team & Manufacturers points will not count towards final championship points unlike previous seasons.
1g. As usual, each class will have its own club, this is a result of DiRT Rally 2.0 Clubs only allowing 1 car class per event.
2. Qualifying & Class Placement
2a. The 2022 Delta rally season will consist of 3 rally series, Delta Historic Rally Championship, Delta Forest Rally Championship & Delta Rally Championship
2b. The Delta Rally Championship will be held in the Spring period of the year & its top class (DRC) will be determined by the requirements listed below.
2c. The Top 5 from the DRC 2021 will automatically qualify for the DRC class (WRC) of the Delta Rally Championship.
2d. Drivers finishing in the top 5 of the DHRC & DFRC will also automatically qualify for the DRC1 class (WRC).
2e. Drivers that finished in positions 6-10 in DRC 2021 will automatically qualify for the DRC2 class (R5).
2f. Drivers that finished outside top 5 in both DHRC & DFRC will automatically qualify for DRC3 class (NR4) as this is the lowest non-rookie class.
2g. DRC class will have a limit of 15 slots as will the DRC2 class however the DRC3 will have unlimited entry numbers.
3. Rallies/Events
3a. In all championships, drivers can leave event between stages however their times will be monitored closely for evidence of practicing stages mid event.
3b. There is no Stage Restarts, this is to keep with realism.
3c. Rallies will take place from 7am GMT on Sundays & ending at 7am GMT the following Sunday
3d. Rallies will follow a loop system (morning stages followed by afternoon stages etc) meaning some stages will be run a second time, there will be a service park at the start of each loop.
3e. The format of rally loops may be one of a few layouts: 3 loops of 3 or 3-4-2 or 4-2-3 (or reversed).
3e. Championships\events in DiRT Rally 2.0 are cross-platform.
3f. The multi-class championships will be run on different clubs, for example: The Delta Rally, Delta Rally 2 & Delta Rally 3.
3h. Drivers can change from the car they have chosen after qualifying for a class however drivers must stay within their respective class.
3g. The 2021-2022 DRA season will have an attendance system in place. If drivers miss more than 3 consecutive rounds without reason, they (and their team & manufacturer in DRC) will be deducted 1 point for each round thereafter.
3i. Drivers must record their runs through each round in the case they may be asked to provide video evidence of selected stages, this is to eliminate corner cutting from events, this can be done using PS4's recording function, Xbox's DVR function or using OBS or or recording systems for PC users. Like circuit racing, rally cars must keep at least 2 wheels on the stage at all times with the exception of “cut” pacenote being called out. Delta Rally Co-Ordinator DOR Covert will randomly select drivers after each round to provide evidence, if unable to provide evidence, a penalty WILL be applied.
4. Team Championship
(DRC only)
4a. Teams can consist of 3 drivers. If a 4th driver runs an event, any points scored by them is discarded as only the 3 selected drivers are eligible to score points.
4b. Teams can have up to 3 identical cars, teams can be registered during or after the qualifying period. All teams must be registered by round 2 of the championship, any team registered after round 1 will have their team points backdated. Teams not registered by round 2 may not be included in the Team Championship.
4c. Team’s points will be the drivers combined total from each round.
5. Manufacturers Championship
(DRC Only)
5a. The championship will have a manufacturer championship element included.
5b. There are a few special exceptions in the manufacturers in DiRT Rally 2.0, for example drivers using the Skoda Fabia R5 will score points for Skoda & drivers in the VW Polo R5 will score for Volkswagen despite Volkswagen being Skoda's parent company.
6. Stewards' Room & Sportsmanship
6a. Unlike Forza or other Delta competitions, the DRC does not have a special stewarts section however any issues regarding rules, incidents etc should be reported to the Delta Rally Coordinator DOR Covert. He will then investigate any issues etc & post the findings on this forum thread or via the Delta Rally Area in the Delta Discord server if regarding a large issue. Other Delta Online Racing staff may be asked for a second opinion in some cases.
6b. There will be an appeal window for any findings by stewards, this window will last 7 days from posting of findings.
6c. DiRT is a videogame made by Codemasters for primarily for entertainment & not to be taken super competitively, championships\events may have a competitive aspect related to them but they are primarily another way for members of Delta & those taking part to have some friendly competition, any results or decisions involved in these championship are not the end of the world & shouldn't be thought about too much.
Please note that these Rules & Regulations will change slightly over the space of a season as some issues don't become noticeable until competition has started.
I don't like having too many rules involved with championships\events but I want to cover any possible scenario that may be abused to gain an advantage over others. I like to think DiRT championships on Delta are fair to all those taking part in them & I will try maintain this fairness in each championship\event I host.
