Am confused about car choice. Which cars are allowed? I see two players already putting times down in the Restricted class, but does that mean they dont score or count? The car classes names dont line up with the ones in DIRT4 (R2, GroupA, GroupB etc.), sorry, am not a Rally expert, hence my confusion. What are other folks driving? I really don't want to race a car in its-own-class, that'll be really boring, and am not keen on racing the cars that don't score. And to be clear, all cars in BOTH national groups are essentially handicapped? Sorry if I am being dumb.

DOR ForlornBear setting an early pace in the Opel Adam R2 with myself trailing 16 seconds, I may have to step my game up a bit. The Junior class might be a competitive class yet.

The class system is horse power based. At the moment only the R5, Junior & Historics can score full championship points (25pts), National & Restricted classes (anything above 250hp minus the R5s) can only score a maximum 22pts (18pts + class winning 4pts). However this puts a lot of emphasis on the R5 cars. I had the same thought earlier & obviously this is only the first championship, some things need to & will be ironed out.
Thinking possible reworking of the class & points system, having a WRC class for the Group As & Up to 2000ccs then a class for the cars between 250hp & 300hp (R5s, NR4s & Kitcars) then all the historic cars will be in the Historic class regardless of horsepower & finally the Junior class will just be the R2s.
Group B is still the thorn in my side, I want to include them but they're so overpowered compared to everything else. They might be the only cars you can't score points with.
Classes were originally based off how MSA & Motorsport Ireland class the different cars.
These problems will be sorted by the time Round 2 starts on Sunday morning.
New changes are now in effect, class system has changed, rules have changed & slight change to points system.
Sorry for the confusion, as I said this is my first time hosting a championship by myself (I have co-hosted in the past but was in a more of a entry\leaderboard role), there was always going to be changes made at some points throughout the championship to make it more competitive & balanced. Thankfully there isn't many in the championship so these changes only affect a very small number of people at the moment.
As I mentioned last night, the rule regarding using the same car for the whole championship was dropped, you can now drive whatever car you want for each rally. Class standings will be updated after every rally so it is possible for drivers to win multiple classes, although this may be harder than it sounds.
Times done, goodness I love this game. went for the R5 Fiesta.
You're currently leading by 24 seconds. I prefer DiRT 4 over DiRT Rally, I do like DiRT Rally but some cars are extremely difficult to drive in it as it's a rally sim rather than a rally game.
Thinking about running the Fiesta R5 in the next rally myself or maybe the Impreza NR4.

Yeah, but I reckon the more twisty Stages will be a different story.
I just noticed that myself, I don't think there's anything I can do on my end. If it's not up by Saturday evening Cosworth, screenshot your overall time & I'll compare it for the final results manually.
