As you know the Delta Rally Championship runs for 10 weeks, 2 events at each location week after week. I can announce that there will be a second season of the DRC but this will start sometime in the Autumn\Fall, before that will be 3 or 4 smaller championships lasting between 3 & 5 weeks depending on what the series is. I have decided on one of these already & am currently working on planning the other 2 or 3. If there's 4 series before the DRC Season 2, there'll be most likely be a week with nothing between series 2 & 3 to give everyone a quick breather or possibly even a week of nothing between each series to give time for testing.
For now the Delta Rally Championship is only for those who can see the join up link (which is Delta Online Racing & Off Road All Stars) but all the championships after the DRC will be open recruitment to hopefully attract some more talent to Delta Online Racing.
Lastly, I hope this new rally adventure Delta is on can attract some of the rally guys from the other forums & teams. I take part in the WRC eSports events & I have battled guys from TX3 & GTR over stage times before, 2 teams that are also active on here & TX3 Nexl is on course to defend his WRC eSports crown this season. WRC eSports Season 3 also brought a Team Championship (which TX3 is leading I believe) & if we could Delta a big rally presence before Season 4 starts in January, maybe Delta Online Racing, TX3 & GTR could be battling it out at iconic WRC rallies such as the legendary Rally Finland or the prestigious rally of rallies....Monte Carlo.
Next few championships have been decided & will enter the testing stage this week. These have codenames for now, which may or not be clues to what the championship is.
Following the Delta Rally Championship is Project Hopkirk which will be 3 weeks long, after a week break is the 2 week series Project Cordoba & finally after another week break is Project GB which is a 5 week long championship then a final week break followed by Delta Rally Championship Season 2.
I will make trailers & video clues for these championships & I will also drop names & facts associated with these to test your knowledge of rallying.
DRC Season 2 might be reduced to 5 rounds but with more stages, 10 weeks is a long time & reducing it's length will allow for more championships.

I am not going to be here tonight when round 2 finishes so I'm going to do a quick standings update now & then a final update tomorrow morning as I update the results.
At time of posting (4:18pm GMT), only 3 drivers have started & completed the rally, hopefully this isn't a sign for future rallies. DOR Cosworth is on course to make it 2 from 2 in his Ford Escort MkII followed by DWRT Covert in 2nd (24.2 seconds behind) followed by The Fezzler in 3rd (35.4 seconds behind 1st).
I will do a stage by stage summary tomorrow, although Cosworth is likely to take round 2, there's just over 7 hours left & 2 of the entries from last week have yet to appear on the leaderboards, everything could be different by 11:30 tonight.

Just a heads up...I tested the Group B cars on tarmac for the DRC, in the right hands they could blow the competition away also the tarmac favours the higher horsepower cars like the WRCs & R5s, with the right setup of course. That being said, the usual MkII Escort lead 3 of the 4 stages of the current rally over a WRC Impreza.
Anyone know when the Dakar 2018 game comes out? If many are getting it, might consider holding championship in that too but only if a lot of people are getting it. I don't want people buying a game for 1 or 2 championships unlike DiRT 4 where there's 4 more guaranteed championships with more likely on the way after that.
The next championship is basically ready to go, all I have to do is wait until DRC round 5 so I can create the championship on the DiRT website. More details on this championship later.
I'm also in the process of testing DiRT Rally for possible championships, although the car list basically the same as DiRT 4, the modern WRC cars would be interesting to see pitted against each other in a championship. Also the stages in DiRT Rally are very diverse, you got the forests of Wales, the dusty gravel of Greece, snow of Sweden, asphalt/tarmac of Germany & of course Monte Carlo. If enough people have the game & are willing to give it a second chance then I would run a championship.
Finally, the thing I have thought about recently is prizes. The Impreza championship had a PS4 & GT Sport as a prize, now DiRT championships probably won't have that level of prizes but I have thinking about having a prize for DRC Season 2 or even for the current season. These won't be much, maybe like digital download codes for games or game add-ons or Closed Beta codes or PSN Wallet Top Up codes etc. This may never happen but it's currently something I'm thinking about.
In order to raise the number of competitors, I'll be changing the recruitment status for the DiRT club to moderated. Of course doing this will attract outside attention, I'm currently active on 2 other forums (Apex Online Racing & Inside Line Racing) & we'll most likely see competitors from those forums taking part. If any Delta members who race in TORA or ORL etc know anyone on there who play DiRT 4 or DiRT Rally, be sure to point them towards this championship.
